The Urban Settler was founded in North Vancouver British Columbia in 1998 by owner Paul Arcoite. The company specialized in sourcing reclaimed wood, & designing and manufacturing furniture, feature walls, and flooring, as well as sourcing and restoring antiques and vintage décor. The raw materials that sourced far-a-field found their way into the interiors of some prominent interiors, including the HSBC head offices on Virtual Way in Vancouver British Columbia.

In 2008 Paul and his family relocated to Fernie BC, in the beautiful Elk Valley. In 2012 The Urban Settler and opened a furniture and interior design store, and the company was transformed into a Lifestyle Home Furnishings, Décor, and Interior Design Company.
