The Smokehouse Restaurant Fernie BC
We were asked by the owners of The Red Tree Lodge to help transform their dining room, originally designed as a cafeteria to feed skiers in the Non-Stop program, into a restaurant that would attract diners year round helping them to operate as a four season business.
The challenge was to make this large space as inviting as possible on a fairly tight budget. Paint and wall paper, some new bar stools, high top tables, re-purposed existing fixtures, and the room was transformed!
One of the challenges was dealing with the long hallway, and how to get patrons into the restaurant without a hostess. We created a pedestal, and positioned a soft edison light and sign inviting people into the bar "to be seated". On the opposite wall a lighted arrow points patrons to "good times and great eats". Give it a try and let us know what you think!
Customers are greeted by a bright and airy dining room, with lots of natural light. We took advantage of the natural environment and chose light colored reclaimed woods, organic wall paper, and just the right amount of rustic charm.
We created room dividers from reclaimed fir to separate the dining room from the buffet area used in winter to feed hungry skiers.
