The Western Canada Place Starbucks is definitely one of our favorites! Senior Designer Lori Crandall saw the tin roof panels that we had just salvaged off a dairy barn and envisioned them on the walls of this upscale location. One month later they showed up on the CAD drawings and we got to work!
The panels were fabricated with the tiles glued to a ply substrate, framed with reclaimed wood, and sized for easy installation by the contractor. We also incorporated tongue and groove reclaimed wood feature walls into the design, including the mall façade.
We welded several large scaled mullioned reproduction factory windows from hot rolled steel to create room dividers, and they tied in nicely with our table bases.
All of the tabletops were made from reclaimed fir, and finished with our low sheen conversion varnish finish.
