The Urban Settler was founded in North Vancouver British Columbia in 1998, we focused on designing and building furniture,
feature walls, and flooring from reclaimed wood, sourcing
and restoring antiques and vintage décor, and specialized in restaurant and commercial interiors.
In 2012 we relocated to Fernie BC, in the beautiful Elk Valley,
where we opened a furniture and interior design store.
The Urban Settler has transformed into a Lifestyle Home Furnishings, Décor, and
Interior Design Company. Our home is now the historic Livery Building,
which was constructed in 1908 using stones harvested from the mighty Elk River.
From this location, the Fernie Livery, Dray, and Transfer Co. once served
the Elk Valley, delivering dry goods and coal to homes and businesses.
More than 100 years later, from this same location, we are proud
to serve Fernie, The Elk Valley, East Kootenays, and beyond.
To go above and beyond, helping our clients create home interiors that are well adapted
to the values of modern mountain living: "In the mountains, we embrace hard
work, balanced with outdoor recreation, casual living, and leisure time spent at
home with family and friends."
